SkylightWhat we doSkylight is a not-for-profit trust that supports tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau to navigate through tough times by building resilient individuals and communities. We are a mild to moderate mental health service.
What we deliver: Counselling. We offer counselling that is trauma informed for children, young people, family/whānau and individuals who are experiencing grief or loss and trauma. When working with children we have a family-centered approach, which means we include parents or caregivers and family members in the counselling process when appropriate. We see clients who come to us with a range of reasons including:
Programs: Skylight programs are free for participants. Waves - Suicide Bereavement Waves is an 8-week facilitated programme that aims to support adults 18+ who have been bereaved by suicide. Parenting through Separation This is a free information programme Skylight delivers in the Wellington region. The course is funded by the Ministry of Justice for individual parents who have separated, or who are contemplating separation. Heart Song - Bereaved parents support group. A facilitated group for parents who have been bereaved by the loss of a child of any age. The group offers understanding, friendship, hope and a place to talk about your child and your loss. All welcome. Pathfinders (Wellington) A wellbeing programme for young women aged 13 to 16. Participants will be empowered to improve their emotional, physical, and psychosocial wellbeing by combining psychoeducation and artwork creation. Matika An 8-week bereavement support programme for tamariki who have experienced the death of a loved one. Travellers This is an in school youth resilience programme for young people to build resilience and key life skills. Tai-oranga A wellbeing, mental health and resilience programme that runs in schools. It caters for tamariki in years 3 - 6. Our contact detailsStreet Address:
