What we do

Open Home Foundation has a vision: of every child growing up in a secure and loving family; a vision of every child receiving a depth of care which will bless them for the rest of their lives.

Open Home Foundation is a social service agency which began 35 years ago and has 14 Service Centres throughout New Zealand.

Open Home Foundation works with families who are under stress for all sorts of reasons, including relationship breakdown, parenting or behavioural problems, poverty, alcohol and drug addiction, physical, emotional or mental illness.

Often family violence is a component of the family issues and Open Home Foundation will support families to do the work they need to do to provide violence-free homes, within which children can thrive.
Open Home Foundation has a network of foster parents who can provide short term or respite care for families under stress as part of a support plan.
