Skylight

What we do

Skylight is a not-for-profit trust that supports tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau to navigate through tough times by building resilient individuals and communities. We are a mild to moderate mental health service.

What we deliver:
Counselling.
We offer counselling that is trauma informed for children, young people, family/whānau and individuals who are experiencing grief or loss and trauma. When working with children we have a family-centered approach, which means we include parents or caregivers and family members in the counselling process when appropriate. We see clients who come to us with a range of reasons including:
  • Mild to moderate mental health concerns.
  • Grief and bereavement (including suicide or homicide).
  • Coping with trauma (including witnessing a traumatic event).
  • Family breakup and adjusting to blended families.
  • Behavioral issues (anger, bullying).
  • Illness and anticipated death.
  • Injury or disability
  • Disaster aftermath
