Catholic Social Services
What we do
Catholic Social Services assists families to live violence-free lives. We are a generic counselling and social work agency and have been part of the Archdiocese of Wellington for over 50 years. Our services are available to anybody.
Catholic Social Services counsellors and social workers are fully qualified and work with both children and families who are experiencing, or who have experienced family violence.
The agency has contracts with the Ministry of Justice and Department of Corrections to help men who are referred by Probation or through the Courts to deal with matters associated with family violence. Men are generally referred to undertake 12 weeks of intensive counselling.
Our social work service is delivered both in schools and at the agency office, and is a free service.
While most of our family violence counselling is delivered under FACS/MSD contracts, at times a small donation charge may apply.
